3-6 Month Temporary Assignment *Highly likely to turn into permanent placement


The person in this position partners with and supports both region and field hiring managers to anticipate and meet the evolving recruitment needs of the company and to deliver best-in-class talent to the organization. His or her responsibilities include managing a high volume of assigned positions as well as interviewing. This is a high-volume, high-touch recruiting role with an emphasis on non exempt positions such as laborers, mechanics, transportation department employees, and foremen in a specific geographic region.


  • Ensure successful recruitment and interviewing of qualified candidates for both nonexempt and exempt positions
  • Be responsible for sourcing, screening, scheduling, and conducting interviews; matching candidates to provided qualifications.
  • Conduct phone interviews to qualify candidates
  • Initiate candidate background checks, drug/physical screening, and candidate on-boarding
  • Work with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate and consistent criteria
  • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with hiring managers, business leaders, and HR
  • Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned


  • Experience recruiting for high-volume
  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment life-cycle process
  • Strong computer skills, with emphasis in applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong desire to learn about the railroad industry
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to easily adjust to changes in management direction and priorities
  • Diplomacy, maturity, and the ability to keep select matters confidential
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in a staffing-agency position focused on construction trades in a field-operations environment is a strong plus


Bachelor’s degree plus two to five years of recruiting

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 /hour
